Start #1: Gifts 854...

Joy Dare - Dare You!
Three Gifts Almost Gone

854. This miserable bronchitis has almost left my chest.
855. The gift of this very yucky day almost done, and knowing that tomorrow will be a new day.
856. All the sugar in the house in its various forms and temptations is almost gone.

857. Removing Winnie The Pooh from my pillow last night when I climbed into bed as it reminded me that Winnie and Emmy were there snuggling with me yesterday morning.

858. Our neighbor and her daughter stopping by to see if they could whisk the girls off to the park after dinner.  This gift gave Andy and I an hour to talk and clean, and the girls a chance to wind down from the day and get to know Audrey and her mom a bit better.

859. Lily handling a lot this weekend.  In her sensory driven world, Lily rode a horse while wearing a helmet and enjoyed a fun, but long and hard day, went to a party after, had her first sleepover at a good friend's that same night, went to an Italian fest today, and rode more spinning rides than I can count on both hands (most with the lights and blaring music that accompany).  She did such an amazing job today and I'm proud of her for coming so far in her journey.  She did tell me when she put her head on her pillow, "Mom, I feel like I'm still spinning."  But I think the thrill was worth it;)

860. Getting to end the night talking with my dad on the phone.

  1. Such a bummer that you were sick! get some Traditional Medicinals Herba Tussin tea. It works wonders with yucky chest stuff.

No sugar? what treats do you make? I am looking for good snacks for the kids. let's share recipes.

  2. Thank you for the recommendation on the tea! Sounds so fantastic! I have not been sick like this in many years and I feel like I've learned a hard lesson about taking care of myself, so I think it was good and a wake up call or sorts. I completely misrepresented the no sugar in the house - that would be my ultimate goal! What I meant was all the "extra" sugar treats that were laying around the house are nearly gone (box of candy, girl scout cookies, etc...). Only to find when we opened our door this morning we had been "egged" by a neighbor, so candy filled plastic eggs decorated our front yard. Cute, but really? Why does Easter have to be about candy?! Anway, I would LOVE to join your quest for healthy snacks and share recipes. I did not give in to my craving tonight, but fed it raisins in replacement. I guess that's a start! Hey, did you see the new posting on the site you recommended to me - Rawmazing? I think I'm going to try these on Sunday - Raw Lavendar Lemon Tea Cookies!!! She says that cashews are really good for you (they're made with cashew flour) and contain a lot of magnesium which sounds like might help Lily? Hoping this will be a new way to satisy our sweet tooth - I haven't made anything raw yet.

  3. I love raw. I have experimented quite a bit with it. Raw coconut macaroons are super easy and take care of my sweet tooth. The tea cookies sound delicious - can't wait to try them.

I am really paying attention to sugar and how it is used in our life. I find it a struggle to "pull the plug" on it in the family, but do want to transition away from it. I am going to send you a link to a movie you must watch! Hungry for Change.
